Wild Flower – Orlando Wetlands Park – April 2015Mystery – Along the Road Rt 46 – April 2015
“Like wildflowers; You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” E.V.
I think I may try for wild flower Tuesdays. The name would work better on Wednesday – So perhaps I’ll move my bird day to Tuesday. Hmmm decisions. |:>)
Assorted Mushrooms – Lake Monroe Wildlife Management Area – April 2015
Found a new spot. Lake Monroe Wildlife Management Area, part of the St Johns River system, this primitive park is along the eastern edge of Lake Monroe. It was a very wet hike, swampy, but a nice old oak forest and pine upland area. While the birds were noisy they were well hidden. Dragon flies were epic with some nice flowers about.
I’d have to guess I was the first on the trail for a while, first hike where I actually soldiered through the swamp, getting quite wet in the process. Well worth it – I was able to engage my “living in old Florida” fantasy – it was excellent – I will be back.
“I destroy my enemies when I make them friends” – Abraham Lincoln
Experimenting with higher ISO. This was very early yesterday morning – ISO 1600. It helps, picture is still a bit dark overall but clearer than usual. Later in the morning I was able to handhold and make some pretty sharp pictures.
Hibiscus Explosion – UCF – April 2015Explosion – UCF – April 2015
“Fireworks are man’s attempt at mimicking nature’s beauty.” – me
So often flowers remind me of fireworks, but it’s really the other way round. The first pic an elegant explosion, and the second the more chaotic bursts.
“Nothing makes me so happy than to observe nature and paint what I see” – Henri Rousseau
Finished my last available book on Rousseau Portrait of a Primitive by Ronald Alley excellent biography and a good chronology of his works.
I continue my quest to capture greenery and portray it in Rousseau’s style. I’ve said this before, I need to develop some contrast somehow. I’ll continue to work on it.
