Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” Kalil Gibran

This was quite a violent encounter. In the top picture, one gator has the other in it’s jaws. After the encounter there was a clear winner and the loser left in a big hurry, under the watchful eye if the winner. Although I cannot be sure there was no sign of injury to either.

This certainly reenforces the need to respect gators and their power and unpredictability,

  1. That’s awesome! It brings back memories. My wife and I visited Orlando last summer. We visited the Orlando wetlands late one afternoon. We followed the main trail, but then there was a grassy area that separated two sections of water. We went that way for about 100 yards before one alligator crossed in front of us and another appeared about 20 feet away to the side of us. My wife would not go back after that. Someday I will get there again. It was beautiful.

    • We had a gator census done last month and they estimate over 1700. That’s one per acre. If you make it back this this way come out on a Friday or Saturday – Friends of the Wetlands give tram tours and we have some really knowledgeable folks.
