But lo! they have taken wings, —
The arts and sciences,
And a thousand appliances;
The wind that blows
Is all that any body knows”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden

How profound and how beautiful the blackberry flower is. I feel guilty clearing it out of the chestnut orchards today! I always leave a bramble area for the birds though and for us.
Thank you, enjoy your chestnuts and your blackberries. I will be keeping a close eye on these, in case the critters leave me a few.
Tasty with some apple pie!
