Wood Stork – Orlando Wetlands Park – March 2016

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
– Leonardo Da Vinci

Recently(2014) upgraded from endangered to threatened. A small success in habitat restoration. During breeding season wood storks need about 400 lbs of fish for themselves and their chicks. More info at http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birds/wood-stork/

Fern – Mullet Lake Park – February 2016

“Although our intellect always longs for clarity and certainty, our nature often finds uncertainty fascinating.” – Carl von Clausewitz

I’m trying to catalog the flora and fauna of Mullet Lake Park and came across this guy – is it a shoestring fern or a wild pine? I will have to wait until it flowers to tell for sure. In either case it is an epiphyte  living on this palm tree.
