“Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life!” – Albert Einstein
Wattoola is the native American name for the bird – specifically Creek indians – from William Bartram’s Travels.
It is interesting the way Sand Hills and their young hang out together – mom, dad, and babies. As spring progresses I will be interested to see if other birds mimic this behavior. Ducks follow mom, but dad’s not usually around.

Bird day has moved to Mondays!!
What a wonderful place Central Florida is. The wetlands, the gardens, the beaches….yikes! Wetlands, Cocoa, and Canaveral on the weekend agenda. (Actually writing this post on Saturday morning).

“Like wildflowers; You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” E.V.
I think I may try for wild flower Tuesdays. The name would work better on Wednesday – So perhaps I’ll move my bird day to Tuesday. Hmmm decisions. |:>)

“All gardening is landscape painting” – William Kent
Kudos to our (University of Central Florida) landscapers – they do a wonderful job.

“Every morning was a cheerful invitation to make my life of equal simplicity, and I may say innocence, with Nature herself.” – Henry David Thoureau
Early morning bonus, I was able to follow this limpkin around for a bit. Love seeing birds like this in a suburban environment.
