Squirrels are not usually a target of my photography, but this guy begged to have his picture taken.

“I destroy my enemies when I make them friends” – Abraham Lincoln
Experimenting with higher ISO. This was very early yesterday morning – ISO 1600. It helps, picture is still a bit dark overall but clearer than usual. Later in the morning I was able to handhold and make some pretty sharp pictures.

Middle English, perhaps we should create internet memes in middle English like the ones that say “if you can read this…..”.

Bliss for me is a Florida morning, palm trees, Spanish moss on the oaks, calm water, couple of birds flying by, and many more serenading the day.
This is one of many small parks in Central Florida where you can spend a solitary morning, snapping pics, breathing air, and enjoying life. As I have said before, the best part of taking photos is being there.

“Intelligence without ambition is like a bird without wings” – Salvador Dali
First picture is a limpkin. A bird I confused with the American Bittern which is the second pic. When I am out and about picture taking the limpkin is the most asked for bird. People stop me and ask about sightings frequently. I’m guessing that Central Florida is a known habitat for this bird.
The second is the American Bittern, one of my favorites. This bird has just come off his natural posture, which is beak in the air pretending to be a reed among the many.
Previous post with misidentified limpkin https://picturethisbyfrank.com/2015/01/20/young-ibis/ . Scroll all the way down, the first pic is indeed an ibis.

Got there early Saturday morning, and again had the park to myself. Got a couple of sunrise shots, spotted a wood stork and my hawk’s companion showed up. I was so excited to see both hawks on the same tree I almost forgot to take pictures.
My goal was to nab a couple of sunrise shots for the booklet (see above). Both pictures taken with my wide angle zoom. The ducks were amazing. There was a constant stream of them for at least 5 minutes. Not sure where they were headed other than north.
This park is so beautiful it will be difficult for me to find the next spot for the book. On Monday I hiked Geneva Wilderness Area loop and I’m not sure if it’s the right time of year for it. It is mostly uplands and while I spotted several birds, the area was not appealing to me. I will have to return later in the winter and see if the atmosphere changes. I was so uninspired that I haven’t even downloaded the pics.
Sunday I spent at UCF arboretum – that will be the subject of another post.
