“Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.” – Mark Twain
Wild pigs live in all 67 counties in Florida. Some are descendents of the pigs brought to America by the Spanish in the early 1500’s. Most are hybrid’s of the domestic pig and Eurasian wild hog.
These are the first I’ve seen. There were also reports of a mom and 2 babies on Black Point Drive, Saturday as well. I think the water is a bit low and it brought them to the road.

I saw some of those in South Africa. i had no idea they were in Florida too. Yikes, they are freaky.
There are so many in Florida they have become a problem. They tear up crops and lawns and stuff. I believe people are able to hunt them in any hunting season. AKA if your hunting and you see a pig – kill it. That said while I have seen evidence of hogs while hiking, these are the first I’ve seen in person.
