The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place, from the sky, from the eartch, from a scrape of paper, from a spider’s web.” – Pablo Picasso

My spider inspired me to start a new feature – Creepy Friday! This will feature bugs and reptiles and other crawling and perhaps even flying things on my morning post. But probably not my beautiful dragonflies or butterflies.

And don’t forget Bird Monday and Wildflower Wednesday,

“Good judgement is the result of experience and experience the result of bad judgement.” – Mark Twain

Slightly different quote theme to go with my title. This is a regional reference, With one of our state university mascots being the gator (in fact the inventors of Gatorade), Georgia is a natural rival. So the title will surely make some cringe.

Back to nature, with a brief encounter I did notice the behavior of the Gerorgia alligators is altogether different than ours at the wetlands.  Going to need to investigate.

“Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is” – German Proverb

These birds, while cautious were not afraid. Fortunately there were plenty of fish about. Alligators prefer fish since they are much easier to catch and deal with than birds.

We counted 8 alligators among the flock of over 150 birds feeding in this area.

Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” Kalil Gibran

This was quite a violent encounter. In the top picture, one gator has the other in it’s jaws. After the encounter there was a clear winner and the loser left in a big hurry, under the watchful eye if the winner. Although I cannot be sure there was no sign of injury to either.

This certainly reenforces the need to respect gators and their power and unpredictability,
